Winter Reads

The Midnight Feast by Lucy Foley

I loved this book. Each chapter switches back and forth between four characters. All of them at the opening weekend of a posh hotel in the woods on the coast of England.

There are endless secrets hanging in the forest surrounding The Manor, and the locals are not pleased with Francesca and her new hotel. It’s presence is crowding out and taking over their beloved home and forest.

All the while friends and enemies new and old are wandering the festivities. During the weekend things begin to spiral out of control, and out in the secret places of the forest these enemies are waiting for their chance to avenge past wrongs.

The story flashes back to a time years earlier when a tragic event forced teenagers to bury the truth of what happened in the hidden places deep in the woods.

And the results might be deadly, again.

I read this book quick. It kept me engaged and I was so intrigued to figure out how the pieces would all fit together.

If you like thrillers that are not scary, just a bit creepy then this book is for you!
