Lately…March “goings-on”

Spring began creeping in a couple weeks ago here in Colorado. Green tips of tulips and daffodils were peeking out. That is until a couple days ago when snow came blustering along. A white blanket tucking in the new buds, giving my kids two snow days in a row.

Usually, I enjoy a couple hours of quiet during the day two times a week when I’m not working. Those days of course were snow days. But honestly I have enjoyed the sweatpants, shuffling of people, and too many cups of coffee as we pretend to be productive.

I’m in the middle of a new season, no longer in school, still working part time and trying to get a new rhythm of writing and searching for agents. It is a long, slow, and tedious process. I get agitated and think I should rework my whole novel, rewrite the fist chapter or jump ahead and start in another scene. Then I remind myself I just started and I need to be patient. So I wait.

I’m reading too many books, starting multiple at the same time, then putting them down and beginning another one.

It is a bad idea.

I usually give myself a rule of one fiction and one nonfiction to read simultaneously. But I’m restless so I’m breaking my rules. I should know better.

We are traveling this summer, so I have also added in some travel books to research. It’s cool, just more things that feel overwhelming to read. HA!

Not much to report on around here while the snow melts. Tell me something you‘re reading or is on your list this month. I can add it to mine ;)
